Opening an Access DB crashed DBTools Posted in 27th, 09/2005 01:56 by spinel
Hello,

I'm trying to open an Access 97 db (.mdb) with DBTools. Opening it, it crashed DBTools. Now I can't re-launch DBTools, as it crashes at startup. Any help ?

Thanks.

Hi,

In order to oepn Access 97 or higher you need to have MSDAO 3.51 or higher installed on your computer. This is the JET engine. You can download directly from microsoft.com.
In order to fix the problem with DBManager, just remove the catalog.ddb on your personal folder, usualy My Documents/DBManagerpro/Data folder. After that restart DBManager and take a look at the About box. There you will find out which DAO version is installed in your system. In the version is Unknown you must download one from microsoft.com.

Best Regards,
