I feel that the time to import fixed lenght text is VERY long I think that most of the time is spended to refresh the progress window For a few hundred records it is acceptable but for hundreds thousand or billion it is better to disable that display or change the refresh count Olivier Goossens Bara

Hi, Sorry for giving you a feedback on this after so long. Today we are checking all pending threads in the forums. The problem in the Import Wizards (not only the Text Wizard) is not the progress. The main reason is take too much time sometimes is because the wizard doesn't use transactions (valid only if using InnoDB tables in mySQL or another engine). For 3.0 version we have improved a lot all the wizards and result was a process 20% faster in most of the cases. This versions shouls be released next saturday.
