duplicate entry error (1556 previews)
duplicate entry error Posted in 02th, 02/2006 09:13 by info
i am using db tools 3.1 to remotely manage an sql5 db with 3 tables
i have a windows xp home machine.

when adding an entry (a new row 128 ) to one of the tables i get an error message saying
'duplicate entry '127' for key 1

it allows me to type in 128 and then add a few of the values to that row but then kicks up the error
there is only one of each number in this number column.
why is this happening ?

sorry to be somewhat underpowered on the sql front by i am a beginner ...

Hi Jon,

In order to help you with that we need a little bit more of information:

- Database Engine and Version
- Table Structure
- Sample data for the new record being inserted

With these information we can reproduce the problem and understand better what you are trying to accomplish.

Thanks,

Hi,

I think this information is incorrect. Are you using DBManager to manage MSAccess databases? If yes than this shouldn't be the Freeware Edition 3.1.1, as only the Enterprise Edition is able to do that.

What is your database server? MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc. And which version are you using? If using MySQL select the server in DBManager and you will get both the client and server versions.
