Postgresql Schema Compare |
Posted in 10th, 12/2005 04:02 by pnewman |
We have a postgresql 8.1 db with 400 schemas. Each schema represents a clients data (effectivley its a private db with the main db). We need to be able to update all the schemas at a time and so what we'd like to do is update a primary "template" schema and then compare a target schema with it to generate the update script.
Do you have any plans to comapre schemas ? ... if so do you have an idea of when ?
We are not a client of yours at the moment but this feature would certainly make us one !

Hi Paul,
This is not possible at the moment although you can compare tables in the same database, in which case it should be done one by one.
On the other hand your suggestion seems very useful and we are inserting this to the feature request. We will try to implement this for the next version (which should be released before Christmas). If not possible we will implement it for the next version after that.
