Importing a Catalog from previous version (1087 previews)
Importing a Catalog from previous version Posted in 28th, 01/2005 12:23 by victor

Hi,

I'm trying to import server settings I had in versions 2.20 and 2.30.

From memory I'm nearly sure those versions had a menu option for importing a catalog but I'cant find anything in 3.01.

I tried a search on the subject and found :
"
- Open the Server Manager
- Insert a new Server (SQlite) without databases
- Select the Server in the TreeView Workspace
- Click on the Create database button on the toolbar
- select the the file CATALOG.ddb
"

However, when I tried that - the window only allowed .db files to be selected. When I put in the whole pathand filename it created the database but it was empty.

Is there a way of importing previous server settings without doing it manually?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Best Regards

Hi,

The new DBManager 3 doesn't import catalogs from version 2.3 or older. This is due to the fact that the catalog has too many changes and the previous data is not compatible with the new structure. On the other hand every catalog saved in any 3 version can be upgraded and this is done automatically if you choose not to overwrite it during the install process.

Cheers,

Thanks for the reply.

Thought I might get away without manually adding the servers I had before.

Not to worry.

Cheers.
